Greetings all! Unless you've been sleeping underground in a coffin, you know that Underworld Awakening will be released on January 20, 2012! If you're like me and you've seen the trailer, then the creative juices are beginning to flow. It's never too early to compose and submit a fic (and be quick about it).

SPAM Reviews Response

Dear Visitors, Of late we've had an increase in SPAM postings to the reviews of a particular fic. To combat this, I've temporarily turned off the "anonymous review" function. If you would like to submit a legitimate, anonymous review, let me know (use e-mail link above) and I'll turn the function back on for you (or you could simply register -- it's painless). Archive Adopted!

Dear Readers and Writers, Greetings! It is with some excitement that I let you know that I have taken on the responsibility for maintaining this archive. As stated in the news item below, the submission rules have not changed. I have only made the following cosmetic changes: 1. Hidden the "Challenges" link -- the only posts there were SPAM. 2. Archive for Adoption

First off, I need to apologize to all of you whose stories have been languishing un-validated. I have no good excuse for that; I'm sorry. I went through all of them today, and everything's been approved - after somewhat less careful reading than I would have preferred, due to volume, so if there are issues with any of what I let through - then, my apologies to the readers! Consider this an all-purpose statement of "I suck". That said, I don't have the time anymore to maintain this archive in the manner I'd like. I still love Underworld. I still intend to finish my WIP fics, at some point. But at the moment, my attention needs to be elsewhere, and that's not fair to those of you who are still passionate about this fandom. So, if anyone out there wants this archive - it's yours. A few possibilities for change of ownership; if you're willing to keep the submission rules as-is, I'm willing to continue to host the site. Email me - sonyaelflady@gmail.com - and we'll talk passwords and such. If you want to set your own rules, perhaps different from mine - again, email me, we'll talk. It's possible I'd still be willing to host, or we could transfer the site to your webspace. The only stipulation I'll make here - and I won't budge on this - is that if the rules change, all authors get notified, and have the option of removing their work if they so choose. We're 2 months old today! And, a contest!

So, we're slightly less squeaky-new. In the past two months we've accumulated 39 members, amoung those 7 authors with 14 stories to their credit. .. which means we need to work on the other 32 of you! So, in order to hopefully inspire more fic, we're going to have a contest! If you HAVE NOT posted fic here yet, then your job is to: - write fic! Your writing prompt is "springtime". Any genre is acceptable, fic must be at least 500 words, though longer is welcome, and first chapters of longer WIPs are also okay. - post your fic here, noting in the summary that it's a response to the springtime challenge. - post by June 21st (again, multi-chaptered fics need to have *a chapter* posted by June 21, you don't have to be finished the entire fic). If you HAVE already posted fic here, then your job is to: - read the posted springtime challenge stories. - between June 21 and July 4th, post a review to the story you think is best overall - most interesting plot, best writing, fits the challenge theme, etc. You may vote for two if you absolutely must, but no more than that. Your vote-review should say "spring challenge" and nothing else. (You may actually review all the stories, of course, whenever and as often as you like, we're just using the review function for voting 'cause, well, it's easy). Winners will be announced July 6th; the winner (or winners, in case of a tie) will get their choice of the following: - a new skin for this archive (in the same general format as the default skin), with graphics and colors of their choice. or - five (5) Livejournal icons, of the 'Underworld' character of their choice, with text of their choice. So, go forth and write fic! Have fun!

This archive is so new it squeaks, and very bare at the moment - so, please, submit away! There is a sad lack of Underworld fic available online, and we need to correct that!
